Release of the pre-Beta version of the new Resco Explorer 2008

The improvements that make a difference:

· Touch control support

· Side letter navigation bar

· File search filter

· Find content-related files in the virtual folders

· Customizable toolbar

· AS Zip encryption, Secure FTP

· And many many more

Please notice that this is really only a Beta version and contains many bugs and the final version may vary from this Beta version.

We will really appreciate if you send us your observations, ideas and bugs to this forum or directly to me (lukas@resco.net).

The link does not work.
I have downloaded the Beta Version, but the Resco Explorer does not intsall.

I can't download it either. I click on the link and I just get redirected to the main page for Explorer 2007.

The Resco Explorer has a scrool bar with the legend "2008".
Could you fix the problem???

Install went well (although the banner still says 2007 when installing). The display is much crisper looking. Touchscrolling is very cool Smile

And while I never had any problem thinking that 2007 was slow, 2008 is noticeably faster. When I tap or scroll the display really "snaps." Need to play more, but so far this looks very good.

very nice still love the fact that it has an improved gui since i have been a old consumer of resco explorer , awesome program

just one suggestion graphics user interfase more 3d or 2d icons i don,t care if it adds to the program size but for me first imppression is high priority starting with how it looks as appose to whats out there ! Wink Wink

Many times when clicking on a folder it sends me back to the top of the list instead of moving me to that folder.

Scrolling needs to be smoother.

Gestures for back and forward must be incorporated. That's all for the first few minutes of playing with it.

Also, what happened to all the menu options when you tap and hold? I miss the copy to and move to commands. Yes, they're on the toolbar, but would be better to have then in the dropdown menu as well.

Also, tap and hold on a file should highlight it immediately and possibly display the windows mobile default circle of dots waiting thing so that you know it's registering your tap and hold command.

And lastly, the scrolling seems to not work until you hold down for a tiny bit. Absolutely no reason it should do that. Needs to be more responsive.

[Bug] Resco Explorer 2008 Beta - Custom Colours

Colours used in the file list can be customized by going to File>>Options>>Customize>>Colours. Entries here become corrupted after being saved. eg. I added CAB file and RAR archives as filters. They appear in the list as 'ß' and five squares respectively.

There is a buglet or two with multi-select. When scrolling with dpad (and multi-select active) the highlighting does not follow, so you do not know where you are in the list. I have also found that if I am in a sub folder, this does not seem the be the case with main folders, that there are refresh issues (is there any way I can post a screen shot?). The check boxes appear, but the icons just to the left of the checkbox disappear until you scroll to that line. When you unselect multi you end up with the checkboxes gone, but usually a duplicate icon for that line it's place.
