Integrating Resco with Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, and other third-party solutions

All Resco products can be utilized as standalone solutions, tailored to any industry use case. However, Resco Inspections, Routes, and Mobile CRM can also be effortlessly integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM, Salesforce, and even other third-party backend systems. Let’s explore these options a little closer.

Connecting to Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM

You can connect your Resco solution either with all online or on-premise Dynamics 365 or Dynamics CRM 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016 deployments.

The most common security tokens for Resco applications are the username, password, and the server URL. These are the credentials used for authentication with your Microsoft Dynamics server.

The app will store the password in the device’s secured storage. It can even ask the user to enter their password each time it is launched or resumed. Or require the user to enter the password after a specified period of inactivity – you decide.

When connecting to Dynamics 365/CRM, Resco mobile apps do not use any middleware server or component. The data is transferred directly from the server to the mobile application via Dynamics Web Services provided directly by Microsoft.

No data is stored (or cached) anywhere, except for the app’s local storage on the device – which is securely encrypted by default. This further enhances the security, as there’s no data stored in any 3rd party solution, from which it could leak.

Connecting to Salesforce

Resco’s native mobile apps also easily connect to Salesforce via its APIs and the Resco Cloud server.

All corporate data is stored within the Salesforce environment, and there is no replication of your data to Resco Cloud. Our server only maintains object metadata, mobile projects, reports, favorites, audits, user profiles, permissions, project-specific localizations.

Any change in your Salesforce organization requires manual metadata update via the Woodford configurator. There are exceptions, where a metadata update is handled by the mobile app, such as object and field level permissions or layout and record type mapping.

To integrate Resco apps with your Salesforce organization, all you need are your Salesforce login credentials. Start your journey by connecting either to your Production or Sandbox organization. You can follow the detailed instructions here.

Connecting to other third-party systems

Resco solutions can also be integrated with countless third-party backend systems (e.g. Oracle). Utilizing Resco APIs, you can create a connector for virtually any enterprise solution.
