Newsroom & Press Releases

Winter Update of Resco Cloud is out!

Resco, the leading provider of mobile solutions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Salesforce, has today released the Winter Update of Resco Cloud.

The brand new Questionnaire module with a streamlined designer, expanded security features and numerous improvements to the mobile client’s capabilities and configuration options stand at the core of the newest release.

The latest additions that come in Resco Cloud’s 2017 Winter Update are available on iOS, Android, and Windows to all Resco customers and partners.

The Mobile App

Configurable adding of new records from lists – users can now add records directly to the list view without having to open the entire form for the new record (in-line record adding –  similar to how in-line action buttons work)

Configurable list header per view – the list header doesn’t have to be configured project-wide anymore, but from now on, system admins can set for each view whether it will display the header or not

New “Export document” action – this command enables you to save your documents as file under different name (e.g. doc_v1, doc_v2, etc.), just like Save As command on a PC would; this way, you can save you file at different stages and keep multiple versions on your device

Global search – you can now add the Search bar to the app’s Home section and choose which entities and views will be searched

Ring Central Phone app support – users can now get in touch with their contacts directly from the app using not only the phone, FaceTime, Skype for Business, but also via Ring Central Phone app (the application has to be installed on the device)

Connection role and associated entities support – in Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM connection roles provide flexible ways to describe relationships between records; e.g. you can have an account with multiple contacts and use connections to define that one of the contacts is actually the partner in the company and another an employee – now available in Resco Cloud, as well

Mobile Reports

Support for custom fonts in Word – you can now use custom fonts in mobile reports when you generate them as Microsoft Word documents (doc, docx, etc.)

Load static images using data field binding – you can now use static images that will be identical across all mobile reports (e.g. logo in header/footer)

Fixed row span in PDF format – when exporting a mobile report in the PDF format the span between rows is now generated correctly

Universign support– you can now add legally-binding digital signatures into PDF documents from the Mobile CRM app, utilizing integration with the Universign technology

Security & Configuration

Configure the iOS version of the Resco Mobile CRM app via MobileIron – the expanded support of MobileIron MDM solutions enables administrators to set key-value pairs through AppConnect on iOS, so URL, username or password can be set remotely to the login screen via MDM tool

Optionally hide locked configuration items – system administrators have the possibility to preset and lock some of the options available in the app’s Setup section; now they can also hide these items from the app entirely

Custom application login dialog image – you can now add your own logo, icon, or any other image also to Resco Mobile CRM’s application login dialog screen

Native OAuth support – to enhance security, the OAuth login dialog can be launched outside of the Mobile CRM application, in the operating system’s web browser; logging in this way, you can also leverage single-sign-on (utilizing cached cookies)

OAuth support for External user mode – external users can now log into the app using the OAuth security protocol (via Azure AD)

Questionnaires

The Mobile App

Fields – questionnaire fields, into which users enter the answers, support all standard input possibilities (text, number, picklist, A/B option, option set, lookups, multi-select options) and images (capturing photos, loading from library, editing)

Groups – questions can be sorted into multiple groups (sections) and these groups can be easily repeated within the questionnaires (e.g. when you have a group of questions to assess damage in a building, you can easily copy this group in case multiple defects are detected)

Rules – to set up a custom business logic for your questionnaires, system administrators can utilize On-load, On-change, and On-save form rules; this will trigger specific actions when the user opens a questionnaire form, changes a value, etc.)

JavaScript Bridge – if you need to create a logic that goes beyond what’s available via rules, you can do so by programming it in JavaScript

Questionnaire Designer

The web-based designer is available in Resco Cloud and also directly in Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM (under Settings – Mobile CRM)

JavaScript Bridge

Show/Hide home item – system admins can hide items from Resco Mobile CRM’s home screen also when using JavaScript

Application logout– if multiple users utilize the same device logout dialog (the so called Sync dialog, where user can see/adjust the URL and credentials) can be initiated via JavaScript, so they can change user even without having to restart the application
