About Oslo Kommune

Oslo Kommune is the largest municipality in Norway and also the capital city. The administration has approximately 40,000 employees. The Oslo Fire Department has 450 employees, and the Fire Prevention Bureau (a unit in the Department) has 70 fire inspectors.

Oslo Kommune business challenge

These people work with approximately 5,500 fire objects. They need to provide supervision with buildings and construction sites in the field. Also, look at building construction and fire safety measures. They needed a system to check building data, add information to it and take pictures of deviations to put in the report when they return back to the office.

Oslo Kommune was using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 to keep this data and was trying to find a mobile application that would allow them to take the whole system out in the field to add data about deviations and take pictures.

The solution

Oslo Kommune tested several mobile applications and chose Resco because of the user-friendly GUI, the Woodford (app configurator) possibilities, and the pricing. Inspections+ met Oslo Kommune’s expectations in every way. Customizing the GUI for all the users was very easy. Also, merging pictures with reports, and with their Documents Core Pack was easy.
