written by Daniel Dolhy on May 6, 2019
Resco mobile solutions support 26 languages by default.
If you want a list of what these are, look no further, here it is:
- Arabic (Saudi Arabia)
- Chinese (Simplified, China)
- Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan)
- Czech (Czech Republic)
- Danish (Denmark)
- Dutch (Netherlands)
- English (United States)
- Finnish (Finland)
- French (France)
- German (Germany)
- Greek (Greece)
- Hebrew (Israel)
- Hungarian (Hungary)
- Italian (Italy)
- Japanese (Japan)
- Korean (Korea)
- Norwegian, Bokmal (Norway)
- Polish (Poland)
- Portuguese (Brazil)
- Portuguese (Portugal)
- Russian (Russia)
- Slovak (Slovakia)
- Spanish (Spain, International Sort)
- Swedish (Sweden)
- Thai (Thailand)
- Turkish (Turkey)
That’s all of them. If that’s not enough, you can always…
Add an additional language
On top of the languages listed above, you can add even more new languages into the Resco mobile app.
This is how:
Step 1: Go into Woodford and open the section Localizations
Step 2: Click on ˈNewˈ and in the window that will pop up, choose the language you want to add from the list of supported languages. Then choose a template.
Note: Those names/expressions that are unique to mobile the app (are not used on the server) will take the translation from the chosen template. They are distinguished by a bold font, so you can see what these are (and translate them).
Did you know? You can also mutate a language
This comes in handy, if the given name/expression does not fit onto a small screen of a phone or tablet. Or if it just isn’t translated well.
Step 1: Open the Localizations section in Woodford.
Note: If you want to do this for a specific mobile project, not for the entire organization, open the Localizations section in that particular mobile project.
Step 2: Locate the name/expression you want to change (browse through the sections or use the search) and change it.
Everything related to adding/importing/altering languages in Resco is also covered in the section Localizations in the Woodford manual.
Quick Tip: Names that do not fit on a small display of a phone can be altered instead of just being cut in the midd..
