Select "Menu/Options/Slide Show". This will open a dialog where you can set the Default Slide Show Settings. You can start the slideshow by selecting  "Menu/Play Slide Show". These settings relate only to the Slide Show of the selected photos.

If you wish to change album settings, open the desired album, hit the Album Properties icon (Blue circle with white i), go to Slide Show tab and change settings. You should also change the Slide Show Audio Settings on the next tab.

Note: When saved, these settings will only apply to the currently opened album. When you open another album it will again be opened using the settings of the opened album.

2. Is there a way to assign the buttons the actions they performed prior to installing your program?

Yes, there is a way to assign the buttons their default Pocket PC settings. Please select “Menu/Options/General/“…, choose the Buttons tab and tap Reset all. That’s all.

3. How do I remove the file associations with your program?

If you want to remove an association please associate the file with another program supporting this file format, such as the Pocket Video Player just select “Menu/Options/Associations“ and uncheckdesired formats or select “Menu/Unselect all“.

4. How can I view PowerPoint presentations?

PowerPoint presentations can not be viewed directly, i.e. we don’t support the "ppt" format, however, you can store the presentation in PowerPoint as JPEG picture files and create an Album throught the desktop Resco Album Generator which is a part of installation of Resco Photo Viewer.

5. Which file formats does the Resco Photo Viewer support?

Video formats: MPEG I
Camera formats: JPEG, PNG, TIFF
Presentations: MS PowerPoint (converted by Desktop Album Generator)
Other formats: BMP, CFX, PSD, PCX, GIF, RAB, RAW, PGM, PPM, THM, CFX, PCD, WBMP

6. When trying to open a ppt file I get the following error message: "can call save as method".
What should I do? Why can't I convert my PowerPoint presentations?

This error occurs with version of Office older than Office 2000.

7. Output to built-in VGA does not work?

So far, Resco Photo Viewer only supports two VGA cards: Voyager and Pretec and Dell Axim’s built in VGA output. If you don’t have either of them, you will not be able to use the VGA output.

8. What is screen capture?

Screen Capture allows you to "take a picture" of your display.

9. How to reinstall the Resco Photo Viewer?

I get an error message saying that the Photo Viewer is in use or may be in ROM.
It is important to exit the program before reinstalling it. You can do so from the task manager where you can see, whether the given program is currently running or not, or you can choose Memory through Settings/System. Here you can select the Running Programs dialogue which will display the running processes. Tap the name of the program you wish to terminate and tap the Stop button. (ATTENTION! It is possible that instead of "Photo Viewer" you will see the name of the currently open picture.)
Your device is now ready for reinstallation.

10. How fast does your program open pictures and what is the maximum resolution?

When viewing large pictures, you must bear the following in mind:

  • due to the large file size Photo Viewer only reads the picture downsized to fit the display dimensions, so when you view the image properties (“Menu/Properties“) you will find both "Dimension" – i.e. the total resolution of the picture and "Loaded Dim." which is the resolution in which the picture was loaded.
  • the zoom value is the percentage value of the original size
  • when zooming in on the picture, its resolution will be increased until it fills the entire memory.

11. Is there a way to reduce the size of photos that are loaded after the initial album was created?

Yes, open the album, tap and hold your stylus on any picture or beside it until the pop-up menu shows up. Hit Add Picture(s), choose the foto you want to add. Then tap and hold on the added picture and select Resize on the pop-up menu.

Do not forget to save your album to apply changes.

12. Will your software run on my device and which memory cards do you support?

Please try to download our 14-day trial version using the following link.
We support Compact flash cards and SD cards.

13. I have downloaded your trial version to my Desktop and when I double-click it, I receive an error message: "picview_p" is not a valid Pocket PC application. What's wrong?

The problem is, that you have downloaded the file using the link for the HPC platform but you need the file for Pocket PC.

14. How do I add or delete photos from an album? How do I delete an entire album?

If you wish to add photos open the album, tap and hold your stylus on any picture or beside it until the pop-up menu shows up, select Add Picture(s) then select one or several photos from the dialogue or tap the Open All button in Menu.

If you wish to delete a photo tap and hold your stylus on the photo you want to delete until pop-up menu shows up, select Menu/File/Delete... and the current photo will be removed from the album. Another possibility is to choose the Thumbnails mode, select the photo to remove and to select “Menu/File/Delete“.

Yet another possibility: In the Menu/View“ select one of the following options - Large Icons, Medium Icons, Small Icons or Details from the View menu. 2. Or tap on the edit icon on the Toolbar

  2. Show Text Notes
  3. Show Drawing

  1. Hide text notes in fullscreen
  2. Hide image info in fullscreen

17. Problems deleting the photo files from an album.

One mistake which you might have made is that you forgot to save the changes you made into the album, i.e.: first select "Menu/File/Delete..." and confirm the deletion. The picture will be deleted from the open album, however, the change has still not been saved yet. You will have to select "Menu/Album/Save Album..." and confirm the action – be careful to save to the correct directory. You can also select “Menu/Exit and save the changes.
