Using SD cards on Tungsten T3
palmOne, Inc. encourages all owners of the Tungsten T3 who plan to use SD cards to upgrade their handheld. The update aids in the transfer of data to certain SD cards. Additionally, this update reduces unnecessary audio interrupts which may appear to effect performance.
palmOne recommends that you reformat your SD card after applying this software update.
If the card has been or continues to be unresponsive after taking both of these steps, please contact the SD card manufacturer directly as there are problems with the card beyond palmOne's control.

Full screen support on Tungsten T3
In order to use the full Tungsten T3 screen, you have to install two patch files created by PalmOne developers:
- AppSlipRotate.prc
- StatusBarLib.prc
Explanation
These files are needed because Tungsten T3 right out of the box doesn't have full, standard support for the retractable graffiti area. It is possible that future Tungsten T3 devices will ship with these updated files already installed, so you may not need to install these files and probably shouldn't.
Several users reported that the installation of these files really helped. Some users did not need anything because these files were already installed by another application.
Installation
These .prc files are included in a ZIP file. After you download the ZIP, extract both .prc files and HotSync them on to your Tungsten T3. After the HotSync, your T3 will tell you that it needs to soft reset itself. This is normal and does not cause any data loss.
Remark:
- You don't need to install anything if the files are already installed. (Except when the full screen does not work - then try e.g. apps downloaded from this page.)
Uninstallation
This is a problematic part. The difficulty comes from the fact that these two applications replace corresponding system applications written in ROM and as such they are all the time opened. This makes standard delete impossible.
Standard advice is not very user friendly: hard reset.
However, more technically oriented users may do it differently:
- Change the type of both apps from 'aexo' to something else. (You can use e.g. Filez manager.)
- Soft-reset with the up arrow pressed (prevents Autostart after reset)
- Delete both apps
- Perform soft-reset again (to perform Autostart)
Possible problems
While AppSlipRotate and StatusBarLib may help some applications, other applications will not benefit by them. Some older applications may even crash if they start or close with an opened slider.
Other problems that were reported by our users:
- Some users reported crashes if they installed just one of the two applications.
- One user found both apps preinstalled on his T3. However, the full screen mode did not work until he reinstalled the apps downloaded from our web. Worst of all was that both application sets had identical version so it was not obvious which one should be taken.
