Custom icons

• Install IconListBuilder.exe either from the exe installer or from the zip installer.
  (Must be installed in the same folder where IDGuard desktop resides.)
• IconListBuilder extracts icons from various sources - icl icon lists or exe files, for example -
  and builds IDGuard custom icons, i.e. the file IDGuardCustomIcons.icl.
• This list is then used by IDGuard as the source of additional icons.
• You need IDGuard for Palm OS v2.02, too.

When ready, install the list onto the Palm OS device:

• Menu > Tools > Palm OS > Install Custom Icons to Device, or
• Menu > Tools > Palm OS > Export Custom Icons as Palm Database
  Then install created pdb file using Hotsync or another mean

Tips:

• Use Google to find sample icl files on the web.
• Sample icon list is included in the IDGuard installer, too.

Other changes

• Backup/Restore (Tools menu) enable to create safety copies of your data.
  Created backup sets can be located on any accessible drive.
• New imports - Dataviz Password Plus, Ultrasoft Datashield
• Improved Templates editor
• Improved UI.

IDGuard Desktop (Windows 2000/XP/Vista)
It is basically a fully independent application that just happens to have a PDA companion. Provides comfortable environment for the processing of sensitive data items, incl. the attachments.
Synchronization via Hotsync is included.

Data Source format

If you want to synchronize with the desktop, you need to upgrade the Data Source format. The transition is smooth; you'll get an offer to upgrade in the login dialog.

Fixes:

• Hotsync backs up password databases

Speed
Substantial speed increase (approx. 3 times) for new data sources.
To get the speed advantage for the old databases, you need to change the password to force the full data rebuild.
(Note that the new DB format is not supported by the past IDGuard versions. If you want to do a test first, then create data source backup - restore will re-create the original format.)

Export/Import

• Export to xml includes also empty categories and subcategories.
• Html export: Line breaks recognized, possibility to exclude the category information
• IDGuard csv import added (for the format description see the PDF documentation)
• SplashID DB import: fixes, some errors are converted to warnings (i.e. they do not interrupt the import process)

Other news

• Empty password: The use of the login is reduced
• Main screen has a button for toggling icons/list.

Protected documents

It is possible to define a document-item in one step:
Select menu option New Document and browse for a file on the card. The result is an item storing just the selected file, with the name of the selected file and with the icon of the associated viewer. (E.g. Docs To Go icon in case of a MS Word doc.)

Export

Xml export of all records includes also unused templates. (Partial Xml export further on includes only templates used in the exported records.)

Import

• Import of the Adarian CSV.
• Duplicates (records, templates) are not imported
• Safer procedure

Other news

• Send will send decrypted document. (In case if you used multiple attachments, just the first one is sent.)
• Hint in the Login dialog is hidden.
