In this forum you can specify witch features you are missing in the current Photo Viewer or which you could live without and we will do our best to fit your needs
with the new version. Please try to keep these requests in this thread because otherwise we could overlook some of them.

As a feature suggestion,

I'd like that when we hit a folder in wich there are no pictures, but subfolders,, instead of saying "there are no pictures", I'd prefer to continue browsing directly

I'd also like a mode where we can scroll through pictures using swipe gestures, similar to S2V or PocketCM ImageViewer.  It also needs intelligent finger gestures for zooming.  Tapping to zoom in a preset amount (as is common on some other viewers) is NOT good enough.  Maybe have a slider that can be hidden when not in use.  Lastly, I think moving the finger up or down on the sides of the image should rotate it, as it works now with S2V and PCM IV.

Hi Lukas. Liked your new vision of the interface.

The feature that i'd like to see in new version is more intelligent memory handling - v6.33 doesn't like 12mp photos form Fujifilm F200EXR - says 'insufficient memory'. As you know, free memory exists in other 32mb chunks? I know that's a limitation of wince, but maybe if you spawn other process it can use another 32mb?

From my point of view, the most unneeded feature in viewer is albums. Pictures is in files, and folders, that's enough...

The slideshow inside the current Photo Viewer is great.

I wonder if we can also have it on our Today screen, i.e,

a replacement to the traditional wallpaper.

The features that I would love to see

  1. Finger friendly ( that is a promise from your side )
  2. Ability to change the tool bar icons just as in resco file explorer...
  3. Make finger touch possible so that sliding from one pic to the next is possible just by swiping across the screen
  4. Integrate with the camera so that when i take a pic and then open the pic, it opens in resco and not in the inbuilt viewer.
  5. Touch zoom would be great.
  6. pre cache the images so that when i open bigger files that will open instantaneously. Pre cache in the memory card would be best
  7. Maximum possible features to edit the images.
I think that is for now .

"Pre cache" should be an option. And disabled by default.

Why?

Because flash cards has limited write cycles before dying.
And i don't like cache.db thrash in every folder photoviewer visited.


About features, i'd like to see zoom lens to 100% while holding finger/stylus (or 1st click zoom 2nd click back) like it is done in faststone viewer for pc (good for reading comix, see details on camera photos etc)

Add uploading to the following:

Facebook

Twitter 

Youtube

Tap continuous on the point of the picture to Zoom it. It's the best finger friendly Zooming. (You can see Kinoma player witch it use it)

 In full screen mode can have a thumbnail strip on the bottom when user taps bottom 1/8 of the screen. Now user can move finger above this thumbnail strip to left or right and stop where needed (the selected pic will be in center of thumbnail) and the pic will show up full screen.
Also in full screen gestures:
1. Right-left = Prev-Next pic.
2. Up down = Up-down folder.
3. rotate gestures - zoom in-out.
4. Diagonal swipe = Rotate pic.
5. Double tap = Context Menu.

Alternate method of handling brightness contrast editing with more buffer to prevent loss of pic quality and pixelation.
In resize mode Allow quick re-size drop down list (additionally may allow user to add custom sizes here). This can be useful for those who are MMSing it etc.

Dear Lukas, if it is somehow possible, an option to completely replace "HTC Album" would be great.

I mean the link from HTC Camera to HTC Album and vice versa.

Finger friendley also in Slideshow-mode. (nex, prev, zoom, exit)

Configurable softbuttons in viewing- and slidshow mode.
