Popular mobile component suite now for multiple platforms
Bratislava, Slovakia — November 16, 2010 — Resco, a leading vendor of advanced developer components and tools for mobile devices, today releases Resco MobileForms Toolkit 2011, which is now optimized for development of applications for Windows Mobile, Windows Phone 7, iOS and Android.
Mobile business is currently probably the fastest developing industry in the world. We had to take this into account and adjust our portfolio of mobile components. From the developer point of view, we see four main mobile platforms which provide .NET application development: Windows Mobile, Windows Phone 7, iOS and Android.
To support each platform separately and all of them in one package, Resco MobileForms Toolkit 2011 is now available in the following five editions:
Since Microsoft outlined the commitment to the future of enterprise handheld devices, there’s no doubt that Windows Mobile and Windows Embedded CE will remain the key mobile platforms for line-of-business applications, which are now protected over time. This poses a serious commitment also to Resco with regard to our suite of components for .NET Compact Framework supporting a huge range of Windows Mobile, Windows CE and Tablet PC devices. And so our customers have a guarantee of getting the top mobile components with all the new trends these platforms offer.
Since the release of Microsoft Windows Phone 7 on October 11, 2010, we have noticed an extreme demand for developer controls for this new, promising mobile platform. Our response is the Resco MobileForms Toolkit – Windows Phone 7 Edition, which offers many new controls. Moreover, we have published a series of technical articles at our website providing developers with guidelines on how to start Windows Phone 7 application development.
“Although the MobileForms Toolkit – Windows Phone 7 Edition by itself is quite a powerful developer toolset, for us it’s just the beginning,” said Jan Slodicka, Resco’s WP7 head developer. “Our target with this product is to become the market leader providing WP7 developer community with the best combination of tools, technical information, and customer support available.”
Although iOS and Android provide ObjectiveC, resp. JAVA app development, there is a way to do it the .NET way using MonoTouch or MonoDroid developer tools. Resco MobileForms Toolkit – iOS Edition is optimized for MonoTouch and supports iPhone, iPad and iPod devices. Resco MobileForms Toolkit – Android Edition is optimized for MonoDroid and supports Android devices. The component architecture for both platforms is similar to Windows Mobile and Windows Phone 7 editions to simplify the multiplatform app development.
Resco MobileForms Toolkit 2011 is now available in Windows Mobile, Windows Phone 7 and iOS editions. The Android edition release is scheduled for Q1, 2011.
