Resco releases Resco MobileApp Studio 2

Ultimate mobile developer platform for multiple mobile platforms

Bratislava, Slovakia — September 28, 2010 — Resco, a leading vendor of advanced developer components and tools for mobile devices, releases today Resco MobileApp Studio 2, which is optimized for Microsoft Visual Studio.

Resco MobileApp Studio is a Microsoft Visual Studio based developer platform, which can be used for development of mobile applications for multiple mobile device types—Windows Mobile, Windows CE,  Tablet PC, Windows Phone 7, iPhone, iPad and Android (Android support is scheduled for end of 2010). It consists of suites of User Interface controls for WinForms, Silverlight, MonoTouch and MonoDroid together with advanced designers and tools allowing developers to quickly design and build mobile forms. Since all the controls and tools are integrated with Microsoft Visual Studio, they can be easily accessed and used from this familiar development environment using programming languages, such as C# or Visual Basic .NET.

“Resco MobileApp Studio 2 is a milestone in mobile app development,” said Radomir Vozar, Resco Managing Director. “Developers no more need to deal with different developer tools and languages, but instead of that use .NET technology and port the final app to various mobile platforms. “

Resco MobileApp Studio 2 comes with a series of enhancements. The most important improvement is a multiplatform support. From now on, the Version 2 supports iPhone and iPad and Windows Phone 7, as well as Windows Mobile, Windows CE, Tablet PC. Moreover, support for Android development is scheduled for end of 2010.

iOS support is provided through the MonoTouch developer tool, extended with Resco MobileTouch Toolkit—Resco's UI controls (http://www.resco.net/developer/mobiletouchtoolkit/overview.aspx).

Support of Windows Phone 7 is achieved by adding Resco MobileLight Toolkit—a set of Silverlight based controls (http://www.resco.net/developer/mobilelighttoolkit/overview.aspx).

Second major improvement includes Conversion Tool. The conversion tool ensures developers can continue with their already designed controls in the new environment of Resco MobileApp Studio by importing UI of Resco .NET CF controls. Thus it significantly simplifies conversion of Windows Mobile, WinCE, or Tablet PC application to Windows Phone 7 platform.
