Resco announces Touch Scroll support in its mobile controls.

Forget about the stylus, scroll using your thumb.

Bratislava, Slovakia — April 22, 2008 — Resco, a supplier of advanced developer tools and components for mobile devices, today announced support for Touch Scroll in MobileForms Toolkit controls. The Touch Scroll feature allows the user to scroll the contents of MobileForms Toolkit controls comfortably, using a thumb.

"Controlling an application with a thumb has already become a common feature for most touch screen mobile devices", says Vladim�r Gregor, sales and marketing manager of Resco. "Now we provide software companies with a platform to further develop this functionality in their custom applications."

Currently the developers can test this functionality in the most popular MobileForms Toolkit controls:

• AdvancedList for .NET — vertical scrolling
• AdvancedTree for .NET — vertical scrolling
• SmartGrid for .NET — vertical and horizontal scrolling

The full support of Touch Scroll functionality will be available in Resco MobileForms Toolkit 2008 Volume 2 which will be released on June 10^th, 2008.

"Since Windows Mobile does not have a native support of touch scrolling in its API, we had to cope with several problems, when implementing our own", says Peter Sartoris, senior developer at Resco. "Now, the only thing the developers need to do to take advantage of Touch Scroll, is turn on one property in Visual Studio designer."

Because of the variety of Windows Mobile device displays and to ensure user comfort while touch scrolling, the scrolling sensitivity is adjustable.

Availability

Existing customers with valid subscription can already take advantage of the Touch Scroll feature simply by downloading the latest version from the customer web portal.

Anyone can download and try the demo application for Windows Mobile Pocket PC devices. It shows a filtered list of customers which can be comfortably scrolled with your thumb.
